Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays

December 22, 2008 by

Everything has changed in 2008! And the residential real estate business that we have built over the past 20 years continues to change by the minute! Just when we think we know what to expect…we enjoy the opportunity to learn a new way of meeting a challenge and solving a new problem. Those 20 years of experience always give us a point of reference…and guidance for today’s challenging market.

Roknich Family PhotoKnow that we value your business and your referrals, and that we are interested in constantly earning both! We can and will answer questions about your home’s value, about buyers, distressed sales, purchases, and about real estate investment planning! Call us (949) 240-5892 for a confidential consultation.

Service begins with asking questions. How can we help you? Do you know of a friend, family member, or co-worker…someone needing trustworthy advice?

Blessings to you and your families, and may your 2009 be filled with laughter, good health and simple abundance!

Giving Thanks After Thanksgiving

December 1, 2008 by

Has it become more difficult to fund your kids’ educational and extra curricular activities during these recessionary times? Do you feel helpless when friends or family are facing job losses or foreclosure? Let’s tie those two problems together and tailor a win-win solution!

Please refer us to your friends or family in need of selling. Not only will we consult with and assist them when and where needed, but should your referral end up as a closed escrow, we will also make a donation in your name to the team, charity, or school of your choice.

While on the subject of helping others…we would like to mention two charities this month:

St Edward the Confessor, Dana Point, Food Pantry, provides food to the homeless and working poor each week. Their pantry is in need of canned goods, especially those that do not require a can opener. Contact: Mary Bauer, or deliver to St. Edward Church.
Contact Info: 949.496.1572, 33926 Calle la Primavera, Dana Point
9:30am – 3:30pm Monday & Wednesdays, 9:30am – 12:30pm Friday

Loaves and Fishes, Santa Ana, a soup kitchen serving 800 homeless and working poor each Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Santa Ana. They are in need of hot cocoa (large bulk size from Smart & Final), boxes of cereal, peanut butter, $5 gift cards for Burger King, adult new socks, gently worn jackets, and new or like-new blankets.
Contact Info: 714.542.4411, Maria Dzida, Director, 727 Minter St., Santa Ana

If you have a favorite charity, let us know via email. We would be glad to mention it here in the future.

Celebrating Veterans’ Day

November 13, 2008 by

The older I get…the greater the impact has been on me of the value of the men and women who serve and have served our country.

Maybe this is because I have met so many military families and veterans over our many years as a Realtor, many of whom have entrusted us with their real estate business. We get to know them and hear their stories…we get to know their families.

Veterans live on our street, go to our church and teach our children. Their wisdom and integrity are undeniable. Their contribution to our society and culture are critical. I never quite know what to say to veterans on this day. “Thank you for serving our country” seems terribly inadequate for their service and sacrifice.

My nephew, Chris Saenz will be starting basic training in the Navy tomorrow. This native Californian will get to experience Chicago and the Great Lakes first hand! Please keep him in your prayers as well as those who are currently serving our country.

To all the veterans and military families who may be reading this right now…a great big thank you from The Roknich Family!

It’s Fall, Y’All !

October 17, 2008 by

One of my closest friends moved to Texas a few years back. And my sister, Rose, moved there some years ago with her family. So thanks to them, I’ve begun to speak with a drawl, y’all.

Okay, not so much! But fall, make that autumn, is upon us, and with it brings cooler temperatures, lots of holiday happenings and a national election.

The real estate market has just entered a new season as well. In the past few days, we have begun to hear anecdotal evidence of improvement in our local real estate market. First time buyers are beginning to take advantage of prices far lower than any time in recent years.

Are we at the bottom? Sorry, I broke my crystal ball when I began my real estate career. But we’re a lot closer to the bottom than the top. Now might be the right time for you. Give us a call, y’all!

Golf Tournament & Casino Night
Gasoline is pricey – why drive to Vegas when Casino Night is right here? JSerra Catholic High School, in San Juan Capistrano, is holding two fund-raisers to benefit its sports teams. The Golf Tournament is scheduled for November 7th at Arroyo Trabuco in Mission Viejo – a beautiful course. And the gift bags are incredible! The Casino Night is the following evening, November 8th, and dinner is included – tickets are only $50 each including gambling. Call me at (949) 240-5892 for info, or send us an email.

The Financial Capital of the World

October 10, 2008 by

That title used to belong to New York City. But now it appears as though all eyes are on Washington, D.C.

Officials, elected and otherwise, of our Federal Reserve Bank, and of our Federal Government, are convening daily to devise strategies to bail out our ailing financial institutions.

It’s amazing to see the list of companies in trouble or shut down. Lehman Brothers, Merrill Lynch, AIG, Countrywide, and Washington Mutual are among the largest and best known companies that have ceased to exist in their previous form, thanks to the crushing effect of bank foreclosures nationwide, and to the high-risk financial shenanigans played by these “titans” of Wall Street.

How does all this affect your home? Your neighborhood has likely experienced a short sale or two recently. And no, No community is an island – prices have fallen everywhere from the peak of the market. And foreclosures are a large and growing factor everywhere across the country.

It’s a buyer’s market, for sure. But if you need to sell your home, or another property, call us at (949) 240-5892, or contact us via email. We’ve been through market cycles like this one before. We know how to maximize your equity through proven strategies designed for today’s challenging real estate market.
